Judge sends an ultimatum to Lisa Miller--wherever she may be

A follow-up on this story:

A judge has said that if Lisa Miller does not turn over her child to her lesbian ex-lover Janet Jenkins (no relation to the child, Isabella) by February 23, he will "consider all possible sanctions under the law"--presumably a threat to issue an arrest warrant. So far Judge Cohen has not issued a warrant for Miller, who disappeared with daughter Isabella last month.

Alert reader Scott noticed that the Protect Isabella Coalition web site has disappeared. Life Site News also notes that Lisa Miller's Facebook page is gone.

What does this mean, exactly?

I _assume_ it means that Miller and her supporters have decided to remove their own open presence from the web. I could be wrong. It could be law enforcement that has taken down the sites or demanded that they be taken down. But I can't think of any reason for law enforcement to do that, and as no arrest warrant has been issued, I'm gathering it's Miller and the citizens of the Protect Isabella Coalition who have decided to take them down. I don't know why, exactly, but would guess that it is in some hopes that this will prevent the authorities from using the information on the pages against Miller's friends if Miller continues to be a fugitive.

This is a vain hope, I have no doubt. Both pages are surely backed up somewhere--with Facebook and on the "wayback machine." The police will be able to find out anything they want to find out from those pages if they do start looking for Miller.

I can think of prudent reasons to remove it, but I find the lack of any explanation disturbing.

I did a search of LiteSite but didn't find acknowledgement that the site has vanished? Got a link?

It's in the last line of this most recent LifeSite news article.

I guess if you're going to make your page disappear, there's no place to announce it. Maybe they think if they had someone else give an explanation, that someone else would be questioned by police as possibly knowing Miller's whereabouts. I don't know.

I do know that she would have trouble getting out of the country. Under current federal law, a parent can't get a passport for a child under 14 unless the parent can show that he has sole custodial authority over the child or unless the other parent has given permission. And you need a passport even to go to Canada now. Fleeing to Mexico might be easier, perhaps.
