"Tear down this wall"

In honor of the hundredth anniversary of Ronald Reagan's birth:



And remember--they tried to get him to take out that historic line, but he wouldn't.

Somehow, too, I don't think it would have been the same with a teleprompter!

  2. His aides, Leonhard. Those who went over the speech with him and advised him about it. I don't have the names at my fingertips, but it would be easy enough to look up. They suggested more passive constructions, such as, "One day this wall will disappear."
